Nursery Education Grant funded hours for 3 and 4 year olds

Three and four year old children may attend nursery, subject to conditions, for up to 15 hours per week of Nursery Education Grant Funded hours for 38 weeks per year (term time) These hours are free of charge, and can be taken over a minimum of 3 days per week.

Tax Credits

Help is available through the Childcare element of Working Tax Credit. It provides substantial support with childcare costs. You may also be able to claim tax credits from the HM Revenue and Customs, based on household circumstances.

Tax Credits can be used to access help with the cost of ‘Ofsted approved’ childcare if you are working for a minimum of 16 hours per week. Check online at for further information and eligibility. Tax Credits are paid directly to parents not to the nursery.

Childcare Vouchers

For working parents, childcare vouchers can prove an excellent way to spread and reduce the costs of childcare. Parents can pay for their child’s nursery fees via childcare vouchers.  They are operated through employers and allow them to pay for childcare from their pre-tax salary. We accept all childcare vouchers.
